THE STORY BEHIND THE

MEERDAAL NATURE TRAIL

Heverleebos, together with Mollendaalbos and Meerdaalwoud, forms the green lung of Leuven with its more than 2,000 ha. This leads to the largest deciduous forest in Flanders and thus the ideal location for a relaxing trail walk full of variety.

The starting area is adjacent to the Heverlee forest. Both the 35 km & 50 km trail immediately dive into the large forest towards the south towards and across the language border. In that area, some steep hills pop up, providing the necessary altitude metres. On the way back, you can enjoy some picturesque hollow roads and wide views over the Zuid-Hageland.

Upon crossing the finish line, a delicious tripel from Bierbeek awaits as a reward.
